Rice Road near Stan Hedwall Park

Chehalis, WashingtonFeb 14, 20080 Comments

Posted speed limit is 35, but in the past has been 50. Local police have been sitting right at the entrance, usually later in the evening so they can sit in the shadows and jump on speeders. Lately however, they’ve been sitting in the very back of the park and using radar guns. It’s almost impossible to see them when they are doing that, however they leave their parking lights on most of the time, so keep a sharp eye out!

Bishop Road near Sturdevant Road

Chehalis, WashingtonOct 11, 20070 Comments

Bishop is one of the widest, smoothest stretches of road in the county, with ample shoulders. It was traditionally a 50 mph road – lowered to 35mph several years ago by the few large landholders on the road. The local county deputies refer to it as their "gravy train". It is all about bringing in money. If safety was the real issue, nearby narrow, winding, no shoulder Logan Hill road would not be rated for 40 mph.
