The speed coming down a very steep hill is 25 and you have to brake at all times. A motorcycle radar guy sits at the bottom between two cars and writes tickets all day. I was written for 32 in a 25.

Avenida Pico between Calle Amanecer & Del Cerro San Clemente, California

A motorcycle unit frequently parks in a grove of trees on the right side of Ave Pico with a radar gun to catch drivers who exceed the posted 45 mph speed limit for that area. This stretch of Pico is in an unpopulated area and is heading downhill toward San Clemente High School where the speed limit drops to 35 MPH (25 when children are present). It is very easy to inadvertently reach speeds of 50 - 55 while traveling down that hill toward the high school.

Just after the Calafia exit on the side of the road San Clemente, California

A patrol car sets on the dirt after exiting the Calafia exit. The radar gun is pointed toward cars who are speeding toward the San Diego area; cars begin to speed up at this point.

San Clemente High School San Clemente, California

When you go north of Pico Blvd before Frontera, there's a motocop sitting in the SCHS parking lot next to the theatre building. I saw him there a few times on the weekends too. If there's activity at the school, reduce your speed to 25 mph.
