highway 397 (cable bridge between pasco & kennewick)

Tri-Cities, WashingtonSep 10, 20100 Comments

This bridge is approximately a mile long and has a steep slope to it so you build momentum easily, State parole & both city cops wait at the foot of the bridge usually on the Pasco side hiding in the motel parking lot or the auction house lot with the street light out on Thursday through Saturday night 8pm till 3 am and Sunday after noon and most holidays. On the Kennewick side they hide in the miniature golf parking lot.

US Highway 12 near US Highway 12

Be cautious travelling on Highway 12 between the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla. I commute 4 days a week and see patrol cars on every commute, usually with a car pulled over. Take heed to the change from 60 to 40 in Touchet and Lowden as well. After 2 tickets, I’ve learned the hard way!

Interstate 82 near State Highway 395

Tri-Cities, WashingtonApr 21, 20050 Comments

State Police headquarters are just off the exit. Troopers patrol I-82 from 2 miles before and 2 miles after the 395 exit. Use instant on and laser speed detection.

I-182, 240

Tri-Cities, WashingtonNov 12, 20030 Comments

Several WSP motorcops have been added to the Tri-City area as of about June 2003. They tend to work in pairs, both have laser guns, and tend to hunt "big game" speeders in the left lane. Used to cruisers it’s easy to miss smaller motorcycles until your detector goes off. Often on 240 around Columbia Center overpass in median strip, on 240 Richland bypass. Polite guys when they pull you over, but laser just isn’t sporting!
