Brodhead, Wisconsin Speed Traps

Goes from 55 mph to 25 mph…..doesn’t look like a residential area but it is…..I must be blind and not noticed the three 25 mph signs between County T and East 4th Ave.

Five-0 parks in the access road to water tower on the north side of Hwy11. This is posted, but is very rural looking and not hard to think that it is a 45 mph zone if you miss the sign. If you are westbound on Hwy11you will never see them hidden behind the tree line until you notice the lights flashing behind you. Also check your seat belt, Brodhead is probably number one in the country for seat belt violations! Take care & drive safely.

On a nice, smooth cement highway, with most trees and buildings well off the roadway, drifting above 55 mph is very easy. The cop will wait just past the Sugar River bridge on the south side and pull you over by the fruit farm.

Hwy 11 "curves" out of town on the north side and is posted 25 mph even though there are few houses there. There is a sign posted for 45 mph a few yards before the intersection with Cty Trk T, but they catch them just before that (as most people start to speed up, thinking they are out on the highway now). Even my sister received a speedin ticket and she is in law enforcement — no professional courtesy in Brodhead!
