County Road F between North Crossing 20th Ave

Eau Claire, WisconsinNov 04, 20120 Comments

Speed limit is 35MPH for about 2 miles on County Road F from North Crossing to 20th Ave., though that stretch can support 45MPH or so. Cop, usually a County Mounty, likes to sit off the road on the NW corner of the intersection of County. F & 20th Ave., which is about 1/2 way up a hill, so said cop has a good view of traffic going north bound. Waits for traffic to round a curve about a mile south. If one is going above 35, you’ll likely get nailed as you won’t even see the cop until AFTER you round the curve, and even then, you might not notice him unless you know where to look. Have seen him there usually in the afternoon around 3-5PM.

Hwy. 53 N (Bypass) between Melby & North Crossing

County Deputies sit in the median and catch you as you come over the hill right before Melby Street (heading North)

Fairfax Street between Clairemont and Golf Road

Eau Claire, WisconsinJun 01, 20100 Comments

If you’re driving along Fairfax Street between Clairemont and Golf Road, be very wary of speed limit signs. Depending on which direction you’re going, the speed limit changes in different places. The cops know what they are and where they change and will post themselves on a side street waiting. It’s a smart strategy for them, not so great for you! Watch the signs! And be careful on the hill by the middle school!

Hwy 312 (Old Hwy 12) Just past the Menard Bldgs/CVTC

Eau Claire, WisconsinMar 21, 20100 Comments

As you travel on 312 Eastbound just past the Menard Bldgs (Left) then towards the CVTC Campus (right), there is one that always sits in the CENTER of the median on the curve. Make sure you are doing 50 there…no more!! He/she WILL get you every time.

Old Wells Road near North Crossing

Eau Claire, WisconsinOct 19, 20080 Comments

The cop sits off to the right at the bottom of the hill as you approach the North Crossing (Hwy 312). The posted speed limit is totally unrealistic based on the fact that you are going down hill and have to drive with your foot on the brake.
