SR 126 - 4 lane between Santa Paula & Fillmore   Santa Paula, California

Normally I worked "moving" radar as it allowed me to cover my beat better than "stationary". 99% was opposite-direction radar. By putting the radar in the "hold" mode, no signal was going out for radar detectors. When I'd see a speeder (via experienced estimation), I'd take the radar off "hold", lock their speed in, slow and wait for them to pass, then make a U-turn and pull them over. It wasn't uncommon to find 75+ speeders. I retired and gave the beat to my successors.

Santa Paula officer sits on side streets throughout day and night and picks off speeders. The speed limit in this area is 55 mph.

State Highway 126 near Briggs Road   Santa Paula, California

Westbound, CHP parks on right shoulder just after curve that is right before offramp. Also VCSD and CHP park on Briggs on ramps (both directions).
