Sparta, Wisconsin Speed Traps

An unmarked squad car often sits just off River Rd. and watches for speeding cars on this wide, straight street with a ridiculously low-marked speed limit of 25MPH.

Always see a squad car sitting of having someone pulled over within a block. Hwy 16 is 55mph until you hit the bridge, then it drops to 35mph for about 1/2 mile and then 25mph thru the city. The same cop seems to get you as you come over the bridge in the 35mph. He even thought I was drinking and I had not it was 4pm, made me test and two other squad car ended up stopping. Don’t drink in Sparta!

HWY 27 South bound near Walmart and Kwik Trip changes as it leaves the city from 25mph to 35mph and then 55 mph. Everyone seems to speed up from the stop lights at HWY 16 to 55mph right away and the city cop was sitting there every early morning around 3am-5am. I have not seen the cop sitting there for about 6 plus months, I still pass a squad driving on the road and my radar detecter goes off so I know they still enforce this area.
