Leaving Willington South on State Hwy. 131 Down Hill to Hwy. 24

Wellington, Missouri has a speed trap that comes with a Menu. As you turn south to leave Wellington on State Highway 131 you miss the sign completely. There is a speed limit sign stating the speed limit at 30 mph but you’re too busy looking out for traffic. After I got the ticket my father and I had to go back to find to the speed limit sign.

State Hwy. 131 south leaving town has a steep grade and the only way to keep a car under 30 is to keep you foot on the Brake.

Wellington keeps a patrol officer posted at the bottom of hill with a radar gun and a long menu of traffic violations already prepared on an 8X10 full sheet of paper.

The first thing the patrolman asked us was: Where have you been? Where are you going? I thought that was an odd question to ask in broad daylight. But he was just making sure we weren’t citizens of Wellington. I asked the patrolmen if this was a speed trap and he answered yes. That was surprising.

The officer handed us the speeding ticket for a $105 dollars and a menu for fines and cost on the large 8X10 sheet of paper. It’s a really big sheet of paper.
