Just south of intersection of CR206 & US 1

Over the past months, I believe the police have congregated at this location often enough to qualify it as a speed trap. They are set up in a church parking lot a couple hundred feet from the intersection and are targeting northbound traffic that doesn’t slow enough for a possible light change. There are generally four to six chase cars there.

For at least the past couple of days, the cops have set up a trap on the northbound lanes, working from a church parking lot, those dogs! Four to six patrol cars sit there waiting for the guy with the radar gun to clock someone heading into the intersection above the speed limit, which as far as I can tell, is 55. Guess they’re waiting for drivers trying to beat the light, since I’ve seen them during morning rush hour.

The St. Augustine Beach Commission and St. Augustine Police Department made it clear that speeding will not be tolerated in the neighborhood. The commission has increased police presence in the neighborhood to enforce the 20 mph speed limit. The commission is also considering lowering the speed limit to 15 mph and the addition of speed bumps.

S.R. 207 about 2 miles West of I-95

Speed Limit drops quickly from 55 to 45 on S.R. 207 about 2 miles west of I-95. St. Johns Sheriff Office has 2 Motorcycle cops with radar waiting in the medium for you to come around a big curve in the road. By the time I released the Cruise Control, which was set somewhere between 55 to 60, I saw the Motorcycle Cops waiving me over. I received a $131.00 speeding ticket for traveling 54 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone.
