bypass/the only one (Athens Highway)   Washington, Georgia

On the bypass (there is only one), there are several different speeds posted by signs. Drivers pass in and out of the city limits of beautiful, historic Washington, Ga and the speed limit changes from 55 to 45. As you go down a hill, coming back up is a tractor-trailer sales business and drivers approach a curve. In the curve, the speed is posted " 45". The signs are small, yellow and not like the larger white speed signs. Cops hide behind the tractor-trailer business and catch people going through the curve. I was hit twice in 3months, the first I deserved. The second one, I looked at my speedometer as I approaced the same location, saw that I was going 61 and reduced speed. The cop pulled me over and charged me with 71 in a 45. It really is too bad because this little town has put its whole economy into its Southern ambiance, complete with little shops and restaurants. Not only will I not stop...I will take the other route and stay away from this speed trap.
