Cathey's Valley, California Speed Traps

Highway Patrol usually sits there with their lights off, not visible coming from Merced. This is a straight away part of the highway, easy to speed without realizing you’re doing so. Speed limit is 55 they have very little tolerance for anyone going over 57! They are located here in the evenings from 5 pm – 9 pm and even more on weekends and ocassionally in the am hours as well. There are usually a couple chp cars on break at the Texaco in the early afternoon hours.
