The 4 lane divided section at entrance to Ross Bridge   Hoover, Alabama

Speed Limit posted at 35 in this section. Sight distance is good and the speed limit is obviously not set according to the 85th percentile speed. Hoover motorscouts were there on Sunday writing tickets. Very light traffic and an easy place to write tickets due to the unreasonably low speed limit in this section. I have over 40 years experience as an urban traffic engineer and feel qualified to comment on this improper traffic control. I would suspect that this speed limit was suggested by the Ross Bridge developer using political connections rather than traffic engineering studies. No, I have not received a speeding ticket here or anywhere else for that matter.

Hugh Daniels Drive as it goes from 4 lane to 2 lanes.   Hoover, Alabama

The police sit in the drive of an unfinished neighborhood and shoot radar going both directions (coming down the hill and from 280)

Alford Avenue at either Oak Land, Pine Lane or John Way   Hoover, Alabama

Hoover cop sits at the stop sign on any of these roads but I believe the main road is Oak Lane and it is full of large bushes and trees so you can't see him until you are right on him. I see him there consistently anywhere between 7 and 8 pm.

Inverness Cove Parkway and Hwy 280   Hoover, Alabama

A Hoover police SUV regularly sits facing South at the bottom of the steep hill on Inverness Cove Parkway, usually during morning rush hour. The posted speed limit is 35 mph and you have to ride your brakes firmly to avoid going 50 mph. They tag drivers coming down the hill heading towards Hwy 280 and it's an easy ticket for them.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
