Buck Hill Road

Pascoag, Rhode IslandMay 30, 20110 Comments

Officer parks in the small cut thru from Rte 100 on the Buck Hill side and uses radar facing up the hill in the area marked as 30 mph. Does this all hours and days. In the morning you are riding facing into the sun, coming down hill and trying to see the road. as you round the corner coming down hill he traps you. If the town has so much money to have people dedicated to trap people they probably should consider that they could reduce the budget by laying off some of these highway bandits. This in nothing less than theft.

Buck Hill Road from the Connecticut State Line to Rte 100

Pascoag, Rhode IslandApr 20, 20100 Comments

Buck Hill Road starts in the northeast corner of Thompson Connecticut and goes to the Rhode Island state line. At the state line the road extends 2.7 miles to Route 100. There isn’t a single posted speed limit from the state line for 1.55 miles. The closes sign is at 2.2 miles. The thing that is decieving is that there is a half to three quarter mile section that is a steep grade. You naturally speed up but the speed limit on the road is 30 mph. Bear in mind that this road borders the Buck Hill Wildlife Management Area so it is all woodland. There are no houses on the stretch . So anyone taking a shortcut into Rhode Island from this point needs to be aware.
