Umpawaug Road

Redding, ConnecticutFeb 10, 20120 Comments

Going south on route 53 and taking a right on to Umpawaug – sometime you will see a cop in the firehouse parking lot on the left, next as you go up the big hill there will either be a cop to the left waiting or sometime to the right. You will not see them until you have reached the top of the hill and it’s too late. Next when you approach the stop sign they sit to the right in the cemetery driveway behind some bushes. This is to make sure people stop. The road is about 3 miles long and 25MPH limit. The cops are out during morning and evening rush hour on the weekdays. It’s hard to go more than 35 or 40 b/c the road is very hilly, but that doesn’t stop the Redding police force, they’ll still stop you. They really have nothing better to do.

police wait at the top of Putnam Hill Road, going toward Fairfield. Usually Saturday around 4:45 pm. 40 mph zone. Sometimes they’re at the bottom, where you can’t help but to exceed the limit. Please put this on the list. It’s true.

just before Putnam Park Place

Redding, ConnecticutJun 09, 20110 Comments

after Putnam Park, about a mile down, going toward Fairfield, on right side, just before Putnam Place or road, police position a cruiser at bottom of a natural hill where it is inevitable to go faster. Usually around 4:45pm on Saturday afternoon, just in time to catch all the people trying to get to St. Patrick Church for the 5:15pm Mass there. Usually we’re late , so we tend to go faster.
