Winnebago, Illinois Speed Traps

Police sit facing west on Cunningham Rd on northeast corner of Prairie Hill Parkway and wait for drivers coming over the hill leaving the village on Cunningham. 4 different speed limit signs are placed prior to, on, and after the intersection for 35, 45, 45, and 55mph respectively. The 35mph sign is slightly leaning back at the top of the small hill before Prairie Hill Parkway giving some drivers the illusion of seeing a 55mph sign at first glance. By the time the 45mph sign comes into view, it’s already too late as drivers will have likely already been radared by the officer sitting on Cunningham and Prairie View Parkway. This trap is designed to entrap motorists leaving the village with the multiple speed changes within a 1/4-1/2 mile of leaving the village proper.
