County Road 289   Lanett, Alabama

About 1/2 mile after you turn on to 289 (going North toward Fredonia) the AL State Troopers will pull off the road where i'ts impossible to see them until you're almost even with them. They move around on this road from about the 4 mile marker all the way to the stop sign. They do not play and will write you for more than one offense if possible.

Cherry Drive   Lanett, Alabama

They had the speed limit at the old Jr. High school at 25. The school closed but the limit remained. In addition they dropped it to 15 when church in in session at Pilgrim Baptist. It's impossible to stay at 25 and ridiculous at 15.

State Highway 50 near Between Hwy 29 and Phillips Road   Lanett, Alabama

Not many businesses located on this highway. The speed limit of 40 MPH is considerably low on this 4 lane highway. One can easily and safely find themselves traveling at 50-55 MPH. However, local law enforcement daily watches for anyone traveling over 45 MPH. Oddly, further out of town, this highway turns into a 2 lane at 55 MPH.
