State Highway 119 near Veterans Memorial Park   Leeds, Alabama

Hwy 119 both directions through Leeds by the Veterans Park/walking track - regularly see LPD on side of the road and/or entrance to the park. Speed limit goes from 35 to 25mph through this area with little warning. Be careful through here, lots of tickets are given out.

US Highway 78 near State Highway 119   Leeds, Alabama

Leeds is notorious for speedtraps; the list of hot spots follows: Hwy 78 at first Leeds exit off I-20 - unit stays around the Chevron gas station watching traffic coming off the interstate and down Hwy 78.
Rex Lake Road - at least 2 units patrol this area near the Barber Motorsports track. There is a clearing on the roadside about 300 feet after you turn onto Rex Lake Rd. from Hwy 78; they also park down by the entrance to to the Motorsports Track. No alcohol is allowed in the Track so don't be surprised if you are pulled over for a spot sobriety check at anytime, even if you are just passing by.
Hwy 78 into Leeds - coming from I-20, once you top the big hill, units are sometimes seen on other side, especially in the parking lot of a quick-mart as you near the bottom of the hill. The speed limit drops from 50-40 over this stretch and you are guaranteed to be riding your brakes down the hill to avoid a ticket here.
Hwy 78 & 119, by Leeds Elementary School - units here at random times.

US Highway near Interstate 20/59   Leeds, Alabama

State Troopers - coming down US Highway 78 from Birmingham towards Leeds; as you near Leeds, there is a wholesale fireworks business on the right side of the road; they have a short driveway going up a hill toward their business. The driveway has trees down by it which gives an excellent hiding place for a State Trooper that frequents the area. He can seem like he appears from nowhere with this vantage point. Sometimes a Trooper can be seen in the median on 78 near the fireworks business. I've seen lots of people get pulled over going through here, so heads up!
