At very entrance of the town of Chillcothern going North 287

I was driving to California from Keller, Texas and decided to take 287 North to Interstate 40, a route I wasn’t familar with. On 287 the speed in the day is 70 and at night 65. As I got close near this one town I notice a 45mph sign and immediately slowed down and since I needed some gas I pulled into a gas station that was about 20 ft after this 45mph sign. As i got out my car I saw this police car with lights on pulled up behind me. The officer told me that I was driving 67 in a 50. I told him there wasn’t any 50 mph speed sign and i started breaking at 50. So at this point I told him I didn’t notice any sign but he stood there like “yeah there was a 50”. I told him wasn’t familiar with area and it was a honest mistake. I probably didn’t make matters better by becoming furious with him because I know where he was going with this, a ticket. He gave me a ticket which comes to $188. I then turned around to find this 50 mph sign, and notice that the sign is in a dark corner on the side of the road, oddly where the town’s green name sign is. The big shock was that this sign was probably 100 yard or less before the 45mph sign making it almost impossible to notice and for a driver to adjust from the 65 mph speedlimit of 287 at night. He said i was doing 67, which i was doing 65 give or take the radar ajustment for errors. His 67 reading shows that I was driving in accordance to the 65mph speed limit of 287 for night, and there as no way to drop 15mph to an immediate 50mph i didn’t see. This town has a speed reduction series that starts at 50mph, 45mph, and 35 all within 150yard. There’s no sign warning out of town travelers of the sudden reduction in speed and the police officer of Chillcothe are sitting right there at the beginning of town waiting for unsuspected drivers bumbers to pass that 50 mph, or 45, or 35 speed signs. I found it also wierd that a driver can see the 45 mph sign which is because tt’s has a street light a few yard behind it but not the 50mph sign. I planned to file a compliant with the Texas Attorney General Offiice online, Greg Abbott. I advised anyone who has gotten a ticket there to do the same. File a compliant with the Texas Attorney General’s office, because no city or town is suppose to get the majority of their city or town’s budget off speed violations in the state of Texas. I think it’s like only 20% of your city or town’s budget can come from speed violations, and I gurantee Chillcothe is either in access or right at that limit. This town is unethical and something has to be done, because they are exploiting out of town drivers
