Freeville, New York Speed Traps
Exiting Freeville Village north/northeast toward Cortland
The 30MPH “village” speed limit on Fall Creek Road (Route 366/105) continues well past the village once into the open countryside and farmland. There is almost always a state trooper there right before the increase to 55, and they will stop you if you start speeding up before you’re past that sign. I was in court today with about 20 people waiting, and most were trying in vain to protest speeding tickets in that exact same spot, as I was.
Freeville
Coming in to this small village from the south on NY 38, the village line is way out in the country where there are only farms and cows, but the speed limit drops to 30 mph immediately when you enter the village. Your speed better drop as well or the police will have you and the cows will just laugh at you.
