Locust Fork, Alabama Speed Traps

Heading south on highway 79 as soon as you top the hill, State Troopers and Blount County Sheriffs will sit at the Locust Fork Baptist church. The speed limit drops 10 mph to 40. Highest occurences are early in the morning, 5 or 6 in the afternoon, and Saturdays.

State Troopers and Blount County Sheriff patrol this part of Highway 79 often. A bit after you pass Fred Terry Road the speed limit drops from 55mph to 45mph. There’s one speed limit sign telling you this and it’s easy to miss if you aren’t careful. Common to see people being pulled over.
