Atlantic Beach, Florida Speed Traps
Atlantic Blvd going west at bridge over the intracoastal
Cops sit at the bottom of the bridge on a side road right before the bottom of the bridge over the Intracoastal and write tickets for going slightly over the 45 mph limit. The limit is ridiculously low and the limit should be more like 60. Most people go at least 60 and many go 70 and even 80. Be very careful, there is almost no chance of getting a warning.
Plaza
Police on motorcycles hiding by bushes on Royal Palms & Sailfish Drive. Will stop for 5 miles over limit and rolling through stop signs.
Levy Road near Main Street
25 MPH strickly monitored between Mayport Road and Main Street. Will also ticket for high beams at night and not stopping at stop signs for three full seconds._
Seminole Road near Johansen Park
Atlantic Beach cars and motorcycles wait both on the shoulder in Johansen Park (West side of road) and on the vacant lot on the east side of Seminole Road. When on the east side of the road, they are very difficult to see. Speed limit 25 but they’ll usually give you to 34mph.
Atlantic Boulevard near ICW Bridge
Atlantic Beach cops love to sit at the bottom of the east side of the bridge so they can catch you coming down the bridge. I have heard they will pull you for a few miles over the limit.
