Chemin Metairie Pkwy between Hwy 90 and Viaulet Rd
1/2 mile section of Chemin Metairie Rd that is in St. Martin Parish, Sheriff patrols because it’s speed limit is 35mph and is an easy target for people not paying attention. Also if coming from Youngsville (Lafayette Parish) the speed limit is 45mph till Viaulet Rd. Right after the round-a-bout it drops to 35mph for no reason, there are no houses and only 1 side road that connects to Chemin Metairie, therefore the only reason is to catch people.
Chemin Metarie Between Hwy 92 and Hwy 89
On the new stretch of Chemin Metarie between Hwy 92 (Milton Ave.) and Hwy 89 (Guillot Road) there are always cops parked on the side of the road mainly near the small bridge. They are ofter sitting in the traffic circle near the guillot road intersection and frequently drive up and down the new stretch of road. I’ve noticed a much higher presence since they’ve repaved the road, maybe they are looking for money to pay for their screw up?
