Coming into Challis, Idaho on either Hwy 75 or 93, you have been traveling for hours on curvey, 2 lane, mountain roads through sparcely populated areas. Passing is maniditory, as you don’t want to be stuck behind a slow moving local if you are trying to make time to get to a far off destination before night fall and the deers and moose come out and cross the roads.

Waiting at the local gas station, market are the local police in a white SUV, who will flip on his lights at you before you even realize that you are in a town! I was coming from Ketchum on Hwy 75 and stopped at the intersection of 93. Looking down the road, I saw a couple vehicles approaching and wanting to get ahead of them, so I wouldn’t have to pass them later on the curves, it sped up to 60 mph. "The Man" was waiting and gave me a ticket for $150. I told him that I hoped it was going to his schools and he acted amazed that I knew!

I asked him, if I was even in a town, as up to that point, there hadn’t been a large spot in the road for some miles. He said there were reduce speed signs, but I didn’t see any.
