Hidden radar trap operational first week of January 2017 for traffic driving westbound, just as the speed limit drops from 70 MPH to 55 MPH. Ticket is digitally produced; for someone doing 70, the ticket is $227.00. Got the definite impression that this was fertile ground for generating ticket revenue for Point Comfort.

Parks on Highway 35 near the Lavaca Bay Causeway

A police pickup truck parks near the bridge on State Highway 55 in visible sight. Not a trap just don’t speed through this little one red light town. He sometimes parks at the intersection of State Highway 35 and FM 1593.
