2 1/4 miles east of the Turtle Express Cassino, 2 miles west

At the corner of Hwy 70 and Triangle road. Popular site for various departments of LEOs to sit and shoot radar at west bound vehicles coming over the hill 3/4 of a mile away. The local Burnett Circuit court judge says that if the LEO says that he can visually determine the speed of a vehicle coming over the hill 3/4 of a mile away in a snow storm, then he has to believe that he has been trained to do that (which means that he has superhuman powers). There are actually three hills in the radar beam here. The 1st @3/4 miles, the 2nd @1.5 miles, the 3rd @3 miles. There are power lines on one side of the road and a long, high, game fence on the other which is just perfect for guiding radar beams to the 2nd and 3rd hills.

close to Hwy H near Hertel or anywhere really in Burnett Cty

Hwy H off Hwy 70 westbound just a bit before Turtle Lake Casino. Cops sit there and in other "off road" locations. Their radar guns are not accurately checked and they will lie about it! They are supposed to "calibrate" their radar guns, but don’t and will not give you proof if you are unfortunate to fall into their traps. Drivers beware! Do not even marginally speed through Burnett County Wisconsin. Not only a tourist trap, but also a major speed trap all along Hwy 70 into the Minnesota border. They refer to Minnesota drivers as Blue Plate Specials. However, they do not discriminate as they ticket Wisconsin people out of the immediate county area. Don’t spend any money in Burnett County – maybe the business owners will put pressure on these dirty cops.
