Intersection of Shelton Rd. and Westscott Dr.   Madison, Alabama

New stop sign was added several months ago and officers have taken to waiting in this area, mostly on Westscott Drive between the houses where they are difficult if not impossible to see from Shelton. I live in the neighborhood and see them here at least once a week.

In front of the new Target on US 72 in Madison   Madison, Alabama

My wife was traveling through and the officer said he clocked her at 64. No way, she said she was doing 50, which is still 5 over the construction zone speed, but there was no work going on at that time. She was passed by other cars before she was pulled over. I get passed by speeders everyday going to work only to be amazed that there almost never seems to be any police around but when we have a designated construction they crawl all over it and write you up for the wrong speed. I told her if she ever gets pulled over again to ask to see the speed she was clocked at. I just want the police to patrol all roads and not just easy target areas where speed limits have changed for a short time so they can get some easy money. They need to spend more time paroling county line, highway 20 and I-565. Also it would help to watch more intersections for vehicles running red lights. Lastly the officer that pulled her over said if it was not in a construction he would have let her go. What does that have to do with it. There were no workers present at the time she was going through the zone.

Farrow Road Around The Entrance To Columbia High School   Madison, Alabama

This is a newly opened road that commuters take to get into the research park area. The Madison Police will sit at the turn lane just across the bridge and the left and give out tickets during the morning commute. If you are driving in the left lane you cannot see them in time. Best to stay in the right lane with the flow of traffic.

Eastview Road near Hughes Road   Madison, Alabama

Eastview has short hills on both ends connecting Hughes and Slaughter Road. The center section is a very long stragiht downhill/uphill section where you will exceed the 35mph speed limit unless you ride the brakes down the hill. The police like to hide in the side streets and use radar as you come down the hill or over a crest. I have seen as many as a dozen offices picking off rush hour commuters. In that the newspaper announced 28% rise in crime for the local area, you would think that these officers could be better used? Be careful, other sites include Gooche Road, Madison Boulvard. I have heard numeous commments that reinforce that Madison is doing a good job of building a reputation as a speed trap city. City has a very large police force for its size. Be careful.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
