Mornings, radar cops checking light East-Bound traffic, 40 mph limit, but traffic flows at 50 mph.

Coral Way near Columbus Boulevard   Coral Gables, Florida

Heading East on Coral Way from Red Road. Cops are hiding behind coral rock wall at Columbus Blvd with Laser/Radar guns. Posted Speed limit is 30 which
drops from 40 MPH at Red Road heading East.

Coral Way near Columbus Boulevard   Coral Gables, Florida

When heading East on Coral Way, as you enter the City of Coral Gables at 57th Avenue, the speed limit drops from 40 MPH to 30 MPH and the road goes from 4 lane to 2 lane and is very dark. Usually on Thursday nights, the Coral Gables police set up a laser speed trap, standing behind the coral rock wall at Coral Way and Columbus Blvd. They step out into the roadway and motion you to pull over without them ever turning on their flashing lights, so that other oncoming
motorists will not be aware of the speed trap.

Ponce de Leon Boulevard near University of Miami   Coral Gables, Florida

The perimeter roads of the University of Miami are heavily enforced by UM Police, especially late nights. (And yes, it is a Real police department that issues Real tickets). They will also follow you until you break a rule and may follow you outside the university for the "take down.""
