Rotonda Circle and Rebel Court   Englewood, Florida

Charlotte County Deputies hide cruiser in empty lot behind pepper trees and use handheld radar gun on traffic going west on the Rotonda Circle just as they top the little hump back bridge over the canal. Deputy also aims radar gun down Mariner Blvd. at traffic going north towards Rotonda Circle. Partner writes tickets after deputy with radar gun waves motorists to pull over. Usually there between 8am and noon to catch commuters using the back way over to San Casa area. Speed limit on both roads is only 30 mph - - - very low, so this is a cash cow for Charlotte County.

West on Rotonda West Blvd., between Boundary and Placida Rd   Englewood, Florida

Charlotte County Deputies hide behind pepper trees on right with hand held radar gun to check speed of traffic coming out of Rotonda on the West Blvd. After crossing Boundary Blvd., the speed limit drops to 35 mph., and the cops check you speed after rounding the first curve to the left going outbound on the West Blvd. This is intended to harass Rotonda residents apparently, because they don't bother to check incoming traffic on the east bound side.

Sunnybrook Avenue near Gulfstream Boulevard   Englewood, Florida

Charlotte county deputies hide their patrol cars on a little side street, and aim handheld radar while concealed alongside the road. This trap is designed to harass traffic coming from Rotonda West, and is rarely aimed at traffic in the other direction. I have encountered this mostly on Wednesday mornings, but it may be in operation on other days._

Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
