Cop under overpass

SW 11th St & SW 11th Ave near 9th Ave (Williston-Waldo Rd).

The cops (city & Sheriff) sit behind the crosswalk lines on SW 11th Ave, just off SW 11th St. south of 9th Ave. (which is also known to the locals as Williston-Waldo Rd). They target the southbound traffic on SW 11th St./Williston-Waldo Rd. by sitting around the bend in the road by the Lincoln Middle School. As you come southbound on SW 11th St./Waldo, there is a bend in the road near SW 11th Ave. The limit is 35 but goes up to 45 just 100 feet past SW 11th Ave. They know all the locals speed up for the increased speed limit. Fortunately, a GPD officer got rapped for lying in traffic court saying he was at SW 10th Ave, and not SW 11th Ave near the bend. He got a suspension of a few days and loss of salary.

A dozen or more troopers and sheriffs covering both directions. They are having a field day.

On 91st Street between W. Newberry Road and SW 24th Ave.

Gainesville, FloridaSep 01, 20140 Comments

This is a residential area with a 30 MPH speed limit. Everything around it is 45 MPH. The police park near intersections and clock motorists turning off connecting streets and continue at 40-45 MPH. 10 MPH over is around $170 and 15 MPH over is $240. Great revenue generator. They also enforce pedestrian crossings near these intersections. Do 25 and be ready to yield the right of way anytime.
