State Route 19-South near County Trunk 48-West   Howey In The Hills, Florida

Howey-in-the-Hills is a small town near Leesburg,FL where CR #48 and SR#19 intersect. The town maintains a 35MPH speed which changes to 55mph in all directions. Law enforcement typically "hides in the weeds"" near where the speed reduces to 35mph."

County Trunk 48 near State Highway 19   Howey In The Hills, Florida

Officers enforce at both ends of town on Country Road (CR48) coming out of Yalaha and on the eastern side heading toward the Turnpike. Speed limit is 55 and suddenly reduced to 40MPH. The fist section is by Mission Inn.

US Highway 19 near Florida Turnpike   Howey In The Hills, Florida

Highway 19 runs right through Howey-in-the-Hills, and the speed limit goes from 65 on the Turnpike to 55 on Hwy 19, to 45 then 35 within 1/2 mile. The steep downgrade through town makes it just about impossible to remain at the posted 35 mph. Howey Police sit and ambush at the bottom of the hill.
