State Highway A1A near Florida Boulevard

Jacksonville Beach, FloridaDec 06, 20070 Comments

Between Florida Blvd. and Atlantic Blvd. on 3rd Street (A1A) in Neptune Beach. Police sit in front of Bank of America on East side and just before Jarboe Park on the West side of A1A to catch speeders in the 35mph zone. Most people are going between 40-45mph on this stretch of A1A. They are surely going after people exceeding that.

Seagate Avenue near Fletchet High School

Jacksonville Beach, FloridaSep 03, 20070 Comments

This speed trap is right in front of the Fletcher High School athletic complex. The Jax Beach police sit there under the tree canopy and pick off people as they leave school. They use a poorly marked school zone that is unrealistically long and lasts for several irregular hours. It is the equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel.

US Highway AA1 near J. Turner Boulevard

Jacksonville Beach, FloridaMay 24, 20071 Comments

At the exit from J. Turner Blvd. on to US highway AA1. Speed limit on JTB is 60 MPH and on AA1 is 50 MPH but the exit ramp goes down to 35 MPH. You have to go from 60 down to 35 and back up to 50 in less than 100 yards. The Cops know that it’s an easy ticket so they sit there all day.

Atlantic Boulevard near Mayport Road

Jacksonville Beach, FloridaMay 24, 20070 Comments

Police waiting for eastbound traffic on the descend of the bridge going to Neptune Beach. Speed limit is 45. I’ve seen these patrols occur mostly on Thursday mornings but also randomly.

Beach Boulevard near San Pablo to Penman

Jacksonville Beach, FloridaFeb 23, 20070 Comments

Ever since the construction began on the Beach Boulevard bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway, the Police have been out en masse with radar traps on either side of the bridge going east or west. Be aware at all times of your speed here since it is now 35 mph changed from the previous 45 mph it was.
