I 75 at Mile Marker 453 (northbound) Jasper, Florida

Jasper is known as being a speed trap, but this one takes the cake. At this location there are routinely 4 to 5 State Patrol cars idling at the sides of the roads. There is a plane in the sky that the troopers claim has clocked speeders with a stop watch. What is unbeliveable is that all 4 of the troopers took off at once to stop cars. Are there four stop watches and four troopers operating them in the small airplane? How is it that all four troopers scratched off at once to offer tickets? I was given a ticket for speeding and the fine is $223. If one elects a hearing the magistrate "may impose a penalty of up to $500" thus one is discouraged from attending a hearing. Trooper was ill mannered as well.

County Trunk 129 near Interstate 75 Jasper, Florida

North of the I-75 exit for Jasper on CR-129, there are two spots that are routinely patrolled. The first is from the entrance to Hamilton High School to the US 441 turnoff. This area is patrolled most heavily between 7am and 9am, and again between 2pm and 3pm by both state and county police. The next area is just before you reach town. The speed limit goes from 60mph to 45mp to 35mph in less than a mile. This area is regularly patrolled by the city and county, usually within the last 5 days of a month, and around 8am, 4pm, and midnight due to a prison being located nearby. The city police in particular like to pull prison employees over at shift changes, so if you travel through at those times be careful!
