Pleasant Hill Rd between Brighton Lakes Blvd and Twilight Trail

Kissimmee, FloridaSep 23, 20210 Comments

Usually SB (but also can be NB) on Pleasant Hill between Brighton Lakes Blvd. and Twilight. There will be 3 white stripes across the roadway 1/4 mile apart between these 2 roads – that’s the “kill zone.” The stripes are used for bear in the air to time your speed, but radar is used presumably because it’s cheaper. Cops are on the side of the road near Twilight Trail. Don’t rule out aircraft enforcement though if your detector doesn’t alert.

NB lanes they usually take cover on Pam Rd. just before N. Poinciana jogs to the right. They use LASER as well as Ka RADAR. It’s hard to see them as they keep the patrol cars out of sight and they stand on the grass holding the LASER gun. Sometimes there will be a motorcycle there. They shoot you as you approach them just after the the turn where the speed drops from 45 MPH to 40 MPH.

Starting about a quarter mile S of 17-92 there will be a radar unit set up usually in the median on the section that drops from 55 MPH to 45 MPH. Usually targets NB traffic but will also target SB occasionally and can be anywhere over about a 1 mile stretch south of 17-92.

Important: they use K band as well as Ka so make sure you do not disable your K and X bands if your detector supports that feature.

Osceola officers on motorcycles will do radar and pull over. Unmarked grey police car will run radar and marked Osceola police cars will sit opposite of each other on grassy median and run radar. Most pull over area is between Mystic Dunes resort and Westgate resort.

Northbound Turnpike before exit 244

Over six state trooper SUV and cars pulling virtually half of the cars going northbound on turnpike. the vehicles not visible until after you go through the toll plaza. if you are stopping to pay cash for the ticket, stay to the right and go very slow. they are targeting sunpass drivers who stay to the left and wizz through the toll plaza without slowing down. i have gone through here north and south bound all week and have never seen so much police action in a speed trap. don’t go over 25-30 here once leaving the toll plaza or you are guaranteed to be pulled over.
