US 98 over St. Marks Bridge   Newport, Florida

This is a congested area with a curve before the bridge going eastbound. The speed limit drops dramatically in a very short distance from 55 to 35 as your going downhill approaching the bridge. The bridge rises up so you can not see the FL State Trooper on the other side. You have to brake hard as you approach the bridge. On a typical weekend there will be 4-5 troopers on the other side with cars pulled over.

Newport consists of a bridge and a biker bar. The brige is curved and on a hill. FHP uses a car on each side with a radar.

US Highway 98 near west of St. Marks River   Newport, Florida

Eastbound on US 98, about 1/2 mile before St. Marks River bridge, posted speed limits drop from 55, to 45, to 35 in about 1/8 mile. Sitting around the curve, out of site, a Fl. State Trooper and his radar. You would have to brake in the average car to comply with the posted speed reductions. My first ticket here but I was riding with someone who got a ticket here too.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
