Oakland Ave in the front of the Charter School Oakland, Florida

Police use radar to strictly enforce the 20 mph speed limit while the school zone lights are flashing, even if there are no children in sight. I have seen this for traffic driving either way on Oakland Avenue. The police are usually by the side of their car in the middle turn lane using a handheld device.

Turnpike Turnpike near Exit Number 272 Oakland, Florida

The Oakland PD will sit on the Turnpike itself to catch speeders as this portion of the Turnpike actually passes through the city limits of Oakland.

State Highway 50 near The Whole Stretch of US Highway 50 Oakland, Florida

You might as well slow down to 5 under the limit (just to be safe) for the entire stretch of Hwy 50 thru Oakland. They have a favorite 'trick' for ticket writing. They will write one ticket and then while that ticket is intentionally written on the side of the road, a bank of other cops will sit and clock you to ensure you are going 10 under the limit while passing the first officer. This is the law and I have no problem with that law, but they are clearly exploiting it for monetary gain.

State Highway 50 near Clermont Exit Turnpike Oakland, Florida

Law enforcers sit off the road next to ABC buses, they will also nail you for taillights, blinkers etc.

Oakland Avenue near US Highway 50 Oakland, Florida

On Oakland Ave, when you turn onto the road from 50 at the Handi-Way, you pass Trailside and the nature preserve and at the bend in the road after you go 35 you can sometimes see a cop car pulled back in the brush at that bend (next to the church). If you are coming from the opposite direction and you are anticipating the 10 mph speed limit increase, be cautious because you usually don't see the car until you're up on it.
