Highway 388   Panama City Beach, Florida

Highway 388 is the only highway leading to the new Northwest Florida International Airport. The speed limit is reasonable enough, but the rural highway invites speeding, and local lawmen are ALWAYS present with marked and un-marked cars as well as motorcycle police. Motorist Beware! Exceed the speed limit and you will almost certainly pay a heavy price.

Hwy 79 bridge over Intercoastal   Panama City Beach, Florida

Speed limit goes from 65 to 55 to 45 just before the bridge on the South side. Cops sit at the base of the bridge and get people on the downhill side going south. A great way to welcome people coming from the new airport!

NW Florida Beaches Int'l Airport   Panama City Beach, Florida

The entrance/exit to the new airport is long and wide with a posted 45mph speed limit. An experienced driver would by instinct go faster if unaware of the limit. It's actually difficult to go 45mph and an experienced driver would need to make a conscience effort to do so. Nonetheless, the airport police have unmarked cars with radar taking advantage of the situation and ruining many people's travels. What a welcome to Panama City Beach!
