SR-44 at CR-475, just west of I-75

Saw the cop parked along the side of 475. He hides behind the trees to get those going west, and a curve in the road for eastbound drivers means you can’t see him until you get around the bend.

Around mile marker 333.3, I75 n, 5 – 6 state troopers,

5-6 state troopers stopping everyone going north, even if using cruise control. Said there was one in the air, didn’t see. How many troopers does Sumter county have? They were all there! The seriousness of the stopping could have caused more accidents than they were preventing. It was very scary. They were stopping on both sides of the road, at the rate of speed some people were going, then braking quickly into gravel was unsafe. I hope they make their quota. I have traveled that road hundreds of times when living in the north and have never witnessed anything like this. It was like " Who can write the most tickets".. A game.

They have employ slow drivers in the left lane so you will have to break the speed limit to past them. The cars will have a tennis ball on their antenna.

Intersection of Co. Hwy 44 and FL St. Hwy 301

Wildwood police park in an area on southeast corner of intersection and observe traffic coming east on the rr overpass. Speed limit changes abruptly on approach to overpass to 35 mph.

I-75 N of SR 44

FHP saturates both sides of I-75 around mile marker 332, especially during the morning. I’ve seen 4 motorists pulled over at one time with up to 3 more troopers lying in wait! The median is very wide and full of trees here, making it easy for troopers to conceal themselves and difficult for drivers to warn oncoming traffic in time.
