Targets downhill trafiic on 40th, cop hides behind sign at carriage hill subdivision

Old Opelika Road just past the lumber mill.

Phenix City, AlabamaApr 21, 20140 Comments

When you pass the lumber mill heading into town, the speed limit changes at the top of the hill from 45 to 30 comming to the light.
Usually there will be a State Trooper sitting at the bottom of the hill on the other side of the light in his silver/grey Charger on the asphalted median.
The colors blend so well that unless you’re paying close attention you won’t even notice until you are right on top of him.
Another spot they like to sit in is on top of the hill just beyond the light on the right, another well blending location.

4th Avenue near Low RR Bridge Underpass

Phenix City, AlabamaSep 16, 20090 Comments

When driving south along 4th Ave. the speed limit drops from 40 mph to 20 mph with a poorly placed sign that stays hidden behind foliage. Police cars camp out next to the ‘Fine Foods’ store near the low railroad bridge. I and about 12 other friends and acquaintances have gotten a ticket for 40 in a 20.
