Clarkston, Georgia Speed Traps
Montreal Road
Police stationed behind bushes at convenience store near Hwy. 78 bridge and north of Market St. past the apartment complexes.
Church St. and Northern Ave.
Police regularly monitor the railroad crossing during rush hour for cars turning left heading east on Church St. or west on Ponce de Leon Ave. on the other side of the track.
Indian Creek Drive
Watch out for the school zone signs: each one has different times for the 25MPH instead of regular 35MPG. Cops are usually sitting on the side of the library and laser everybody who is coming from the side of Georgia Perimeter College. This is their spot! Several cars sit and scan cars during the school times. Just drive like 20MPG to give them NO reason to stop you!
Hwy 78 between exit 1 to 3
The speed limit Hwy 78 westbound to Atlanta is 65 MPH. However, it becomes 55 MPH between exit 1 and 3. The actual traffic remains to be 65 – 75 MPH at any given time.
Church Street. Espically in front of the police/courthouse
The stop sign right in front of the Clarkston Police Station/Courthouse. The officer parking is on your right. The officers sit in the parking lot, and write tickets all day long. Just got back from court, and at least 25 people were there pleading “Not Guilty” to Failure to yield at a stop sign. And the same officer wrote all the tickets. Plead NOT GUILTY if you got this ticket unjustly.
