Laurinburg, North Carolina Speed Traps
Turnpike Rd in front of Laurinburg Christian Church
I drive down this road every day and there is always either a State Trooper or a Laurinburg Police Officer sitting in the parking lot. Most of the time they park under the awning so you cannot see them until you are right in front of them.
I-74 near Gibson Rd/US 74 Business
Traveling east on 74, there was a cop sitting on the Gibson Rd (Route 79) bridge with a laser. There were 3 cops on the entrance ramp (one sheriff, two unmarked). About a mile down there were three people pulled over right in a row by two Laurinburg PD officers and one sheriff. There was a 4th stop by an unmarked car about a mile farther. Speed limit jumps from 55 to 70 a mile before this (they are patroling the 70 area), so it isn’t really a trap, but a lot of people see the 70 signs and immediately floor it.
Turnpike Road next to Indian Museum
On Turnpike road next to the Indian Museum In Laurinburg is a dirt road. The dirt road is usually where the trap is. You don’t see it until you come around a corner and then its to late. If traveling North on Turnpike the dirt road and Indian museum is right after the Highway 74 overpass. IF turning off of 74 business onto Turnpike the Indian Museum and dirt road is within 1/2 a mile.
