Manzanita Lake Entrance of Lassen National Park

Lassen National Park, CaliforniaAug 05, 20110 Comments

When driving northbound on the park road near the Manzanita Lake entrance, the speed limit quickly changes from 55 to 35 to 25 mph and the rangers are there with their radar ready to ambush you while showing no mercy. The first day the park road opened after being closed much of the summer due to snow, the rangers were targeting visitors who were unlikely to be able to go to court. I was told that they don’t give any warnings. Additionally, with a federal ticket there is no option of attending traffic school so the ticket will be on my record for three years. The ranger who made contact while the other one sat in the truck was rather rude. I will not be returning to LNP!
