Watch out-----the mayor here has hired a new police chief in order to write more tickets and bring in money to a dying town...He starts Jan3,2011 and has been ordered to pull anyone over just a tad over the speed limit...I live here and am warning everyone about this now----the speed trap is back----the cop is full time and he will catch you----

Repton is a small town in Alabama and the cops are waiting for out of state cars. There was an article in the Mobile Press Register about the speed traps in this town.

US Highway 84 near I-65 Expressway Repton, Alabama

Repton, on Hiway 84, is sparsley populated and very small. entering from either side, it appears that it is just a cluster of houses. There is a railroad over pass on Hiway 84. Traveling from any direction you cannot see what is on the other side of the overpass. When you top the overpass, there he is and it is too late.

US 84 between Evergreen and Monroeville Repton, Alabama

Speed limit drops from 55 to 35 with no deaccleration time. No tolerance any speed over speed limit and your ticketed. West bound he sits under a blind hill where the limit drops from 55 to 40 mph at the sign. East bound he sits in the Bank parking lot in a curve where the limit drops to 35 mhp 'shoots' you before the limit sign changes, then pulls you over after you pass the limit sign.

Across from High School on HWY 84 Repton, Alabama

Repton locals enforce their traps at all times of the day. They will either sit on the side of the road and wait or try to come up from behind. Because their is only one gas station and a pizza place the town uses this money to pay their officers, pay for road signs when needed, and any thing else the city needs money for.
