US Highway 82 near Huddle House at end of town heading towards Jesup, GA   Ludowici, Georgia

Ludowici Georgia is known as Georgia's Speed Trap. Speed limits are enforced by local city police and Highway State Patrol whether you are heading towards Hinesville or Jesup on Hwy 82 or towards Glennville on Hwy 341 or towards Brunswick on Hwy 431/17. Never a good thing to speed through Long County, especially with out of State or County Tags.

US Highway 84 near East City Limits   Ludowici, Georgia

City speed limit of 45. As you are East bound there is a gap of about 150 yards as you approach the 55 mph state speed limit sign. Sits in this gap and shoots back into the 45 zone as you are looking at the 55 mph sign. Right shoulder. 4 lane.

State Highway 57 near South City Limits   Ludowici, Georgia

Ludowici City Police sit on the grass just inside the City Limits as you head North on Ga 57. Speed limit drops to 35 soon after you enter the City Limits.

Us 84 & US 301   Ludowici, Georgia

The small City of Ludowici in Long County in southeast GA is well known to all as a speed trap, although it is much better now than 25 years ago (no signs hidden behind any bushes anymore). Still when passing through slow down as I have started seeing City Police sit on US 84 & 301 when the speed limit drops to 35 (the limit in the county just southwest of town in 65 on this road). They are in plain sight usually near the red light (there is only 1 light in town)But if you do get a ticket just pay the fine cause appealing it would be a serious waste of your time!
