The entire length of Hwy 441 within the Dillard city limits   Mountain City, Georgia

Dillard's finest pride themselves with parking along Hwy 441 looking for out-of-state drivers doing the least little thing wrong so they can be ticketed to help fill Dillard's coffers. If you have a broken headlight or if you do not like to signal when you turn, make sure that you AVOID this sleepy little town in Northeast Georgia (there is not much to see or do here anyway).

441 South   Mountain City, Georgia

This tiny little hamlet of a town makes a lot of its revenue focusing on traffic violations, any kind will do. Speeds change numerous times and the police watch this two mile stretch of road like a hawk. They recently extended their city limits for this purpose. This should not even be a town, and it probably would not be if there was not so much revenue to make from travelors passing through. This is a main artery from Georgia to North Carolina. Just so you know they can arrest you for speeding in Georgia (yeah- thats right- lock you up and make you post bond). They can also impound your car for improper/expired registration- leave you standing by the side of the road. If this is not a hindrance on interstate commerce, I don't know what is. Even judges and sherrifs deputies slow down going through here. Watch this place.

US Highway 23   Mountain City, Georgia

This entire area between Clayton and the NC state line is one big trap, with the road changing from two to three to four lanes and the speed limit varying from 55 MPH down to 35 or 40 without warning. There is always a cop on patrol, especially in Mountain City. And he is especially there at afternoon rush hours (Friday) and weekends. I have seen many a tourist and commuter alike pulled over in this area, so be careful!

Hwy 441   Mountain City, Georgia

Be very careful going thru this town, this is a major highway that takes alot of people towards pigeon forge and Gatlinburge, so the cops in this town don't have to much to do three cops on the whole force. whole town is less than 500 people so you got to make money were you can. this town is only about a mile long it is on a major four lane where anywhere else on this road speed limit is 55, but at this town speed limt drops from 55 to 25 right as you round the cruve coming into town and 'BAM' they got you before you even knew what hit you, and fines in this town are very steep. they normaly sit at the pure gas station as you come to town

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
