Monroe County Sheriff Deputy was hiding in the median concealed by a woodline. The distance to the woodline is 223.5 feet, a violation of Georgia Code 40-14-7, which requires police officers to be visible by at least 500 feet of approaching traffic. Georgia has laws to reduce speed traps in the State; however, the Sheriff’s office commonly violates the law.
