Entering Ilwaco both ends of town.

Ilwaco, WashingtonMar 03, 20130 Comments

Both entries to Ilwaco require sudden slow downs. This town has an edict from it’s Chief to it’s officers to write a certain number of tickets. they are told they must do it. I have this on good authority from several officers. If you speed in Ilwaco or talk on a phone and a cop is around they will write you because they have to to meet requirements or they get in trouble.

South of Mile Post 12 and east of mile Post 11 on 101 HWY

South on 101 into Ilwaco the speed limit is 45 MPH for 4 miles, then 35 MPH for one mile, then 25 MPH as you enter Ilwaco with a downhill grade. Thats where the get you. You are slowing down, foot off the pedal, yet on a down hill grade, which requires you to brake to get down to 25 MPH.

East into Ilwaco the same thing. Mile Post 11 is 50 MPH, then 35 MPH, then 25 MPH on down hill grade, which requires you apply the brakes.
