State Route Ga. 144 near Timber Trail Rd Road   Richmond Hill, Georgia

West bound from the two lane part of Ga 144 ... as the road widens into an Interstate type road divided by about a 12 ft wide median, two lanes west and two lanes east bound...at about Timber Trail Rd. the speed limit drops to a rediculous 35 mph all the way to Hwy 17 , over two miles...and there are no drive ways on the right side until you reach the first set of railroad tracks..RHPD sits in the left turn lanes with a turn signal on emulating a left turning vehicle at Cherry St.

US Highway 17 near State Highway 144   Richmond Hill, Georgia

After crossing Hwy 144, onto Hwy 17 the posted speed limit is 35 mph. However, the sign is hard to see and only 300' up the street is a sign for 45 mph (speed increases right before an intersection). The troopers sit at the intersection behind the 45 mph sign and shoot radar into the oncomming trafic. There is no need for the 35 mph other than as a speed trap.
