Along Cumberland Pkwy. near Cumberland Mall   Smyrna, Georgia

This is a favorite place to clock motorists...(35 mph limit).... the officers are tracking northbound cars nearing the mall. The road just south is downhill, and curves right, and then goes uphill, and that is where they sit...and speeders won't see them until it is too late...a great trap!...usually mid-morning weekdays....keep it close to 35 mph folks!!

Highview Drive & Cloudland Drivein Bennett Woods Subdivision   Smyrna, Georgia

This is not as much a speed trap per se as it is a neighborhood stop sign check. Squad car parks just around the curve to spot folks rolling through the stop sign, you don't see him until it's too late. Mainly mornings, between 7 and 9, a few times per month. This is a popular shortcut among locals, and although it's proper to exercise care within a subdivision like this, you're easy prey at budget time.

Spring Road (Near Argyle Elementary School)   Smyrna, Georgia

Motorcycle Cops stand in the vacant parking lot across from the small shopping strip with the Subway and Hot Wings place catching east bound traffic. There are typically 3 or 4 of them. Spring Road is a long straight stretch. It is easy to go faster than the 45mph posted especially if you hit all the lights on green. When school is starting or letting out the speed limit drops to 25mph and the cops are there to catch you. Their trick is to catch you after you have passed the school and starting to pick speed again. That is when they get you.

Campbell Road (between Spring Rd & Atlanta Rd)   Smyrna, Georgia

Cops pick different places on this road to sit. It is short but there is a school at either end. Since it is a shortcut people have a tendency to go faster than the 35mph posted. From the Spring Road side, look for motorcycle and cruisers. They hide in the subdivision entrances and walk out in the middle of the street to stop you. (I glanced down for a second and nearly ran over one. LOL!) There is one stop sign on this road. They like to sit there as well for people that do not come to a complete stop. From the stop sign headed on towards Atlanta Road, look for the cruisers sitting on the side streets on the right.

Speeding Tickets

You deserve every speeding ticket you get. You can complain all you want after the fact, but it's true.
Find out why.

It's one of the "great" American past times: complaining about unfair speeding tickets. There are two types of people when it comes to complaining about this particular type of traffic ticket. Which group are you in?
