Port Saint Lucie, Florida Speed Traps

Port $t Lucie’s finest set up a dirty speed trap on Walton, between Village Green Dr. & Lennard Rd. This morning there was one m/c cop and one in a Port $t Lucie, PD special, “ghost” car.

The section of Walton Rd where these brave heroes set up is absolutely straight. It’s a wide four lane highway, divided by a wide landscaped median. Oh, yeah, and it’s posted at 35 MPH. No real reason for the limit to be posted so low there – except to make $$ for the city. And they know it and make bank on it. And they are there a lot.

Need more proof it’s a $peed trap? Once Walton passes Lennard (heading east), the road drops to a two lane. And the limit goes UP to 45 MPH.

Port St Lucie revenue collector sits at the entrance to LOWES in his tax payer funded “ghost car,” clocking westbound folks with la$er. He pops vehicles as they travel downhill from going over the Turnpike. Ea$y pickings on a six lane road with 40 MPH speed limit.

One PSLPD revenue collector sits in his tax payer funded “ghost car,” clocking northbound US-1 traffic with laser. There were two chase cars and on M/C to chase down “offenders.” Speed Limit is 45 MPH on this straight 6 lane highway. Easy pickings.

PSLPD, hidden by overgrowth, using laser. This morning they were clocking northbound vehicles. But they also sit in the driveway of the church clocking southbound vehicles. To the best of my knowledge there has never been a wreck caused by speed on that part of Selvitz, and I’ve been living nearby for over 30 years.

Port St Lucie m/c PD using laser. They are either at the church parking lot (nice and shady) or sitting at the stop sign on Manville at Selvitz. They can get traffic going either way on Selvitz. The spot is a real money maker for the city coffers.
