U.S. 41 north of IN 246/U.S. 41 intersection

Farmersburg, IndianaJul 21, 20120 Comments

U.S. 41 going north/south goes into a dip (low spot) in the land just north of Indiana 246 intersection. State troopers have been known to sit in the crossover (which is closer to the north end than the south end of the low spot) in the median facing east/west/north/south (usually north or south for easier entry to the highway) lying in wait for a speeder. This location is bad as you can’t see the car or motorcycle from either direction until you start down into the dip and then it’s too late. This location is also known for their use as a speed trap at night as they sit in total darkness (no lights on at all plus no lights in the area/street lights etc.) making it even harder to see them. Be very watchful here as I have seen state troopers at/in this location every day of the week, day or night and at all times of the day waiting for someone unsuspecting to come by and fall into the trap they have set.
